Government Launches Ontario Business Program Guide

One of the most often asked questions of the Chamber is what programs does the government have to assist my business? The Ontario Government has launched the Ontario Business Program Guide   http://www.ontario.ca/en/business_program/index.htm to help businesses find information about government tax credits, incentives and programs for business. The guide is a centralized online directory of information on business resources and services from 11 different ministries. It provides business with one window to support programs and services that were previously housed on several different websites. 

 The Ontario Business Program Guide offers something for businesses of every type: start-ups, established entrepreneurs, large businesses, and even youth. The Guide provides links to other to business sources, such as ServiceOntario’s gateway for business and Canada-Business Ontario. It is updated regularly.

In addition, the Ontario government and Industry Canada have introduced a single business telephone number for the province. Now both contact centres share one toll-free telephone number – 1-888-745-8888 – to business callers to information about frequently used federal, provincial, and municipal government programs and services. In total, agents can connect callers to over 80 programs consisting of hundreds of services to business.
